Sachin Tendulkar or Virat Kohli - The Better Batsman
Sachin played in the generation where the game was dominated by the bowlers. Every team had 2-3 and sometimes 4 quality bowlers. The pitches were not flat. They were quite challenging. Today the game is dominated by the batsman, the pitches have gone flat, every team has only 1 or sometimes 2 quality bowlers. At that time 250 was the winning total while today 330 isn't safe anymore.
If we talk about Virat he has mastered the art of chase. He has already scored the most number of centuries while chasing by any player in the ODI. His average and consistency in all formats is quite remarkable. He has already scored 43 centuries in ODI and will break Sachin's record of most centuries in near future. And what if the pitches have gone flat, they are flat for everyone! Then why isn't everyone scoring like Virat?
There are still a lot of questions. Will Virat score more runs in test cricket? Will Virat score more centuries in test cricket? Infact will Virat score more runs in ODI Cricket too?
Although Virat is supremely fit but as he will reach to the later part of his career, he might get more prone to injuries, he might have an off season where he won't score runs and things might change all of a sudden then. There are a lots and lots of permutations and combinations.
But I feel Virat will at least play for 6-7 years or who knows he might play the 2027 World Cup too. And in the process he will break Sachin's ODI records but I still doubt whether he will be able to break his test records or not.
There's nothing against Virat Kohli, he is really a legend of the game but for me Sachin is still the better batsman Virat Kohli.
